Below is an rp I did with HowlZThewolf!
Let's do another one again!
The ocelot padded through the forest, sniffing the air. He probably wouldn't catch anything, since it was mid winter, and prey was scarce. He glanced up at the sky; it was starting to snow.
Shivering slightly, Tam perked his ears up. Was that prey he heard? He licked his lips and stalked toward the sound.
Aelia was walking and and saw a rabbit. It was a fat rabbit, so it looked like it would be a filling. She chased after it. It ran into the forest and Aelia was watching the rabbit instead on where she was going. She ran into a bush. The rabbit stopped to nibble on the cold grass.
If he caught whatever was in that bush, he could be greatly helping his empire. He leaned back on his haunches, preparing himself for the jump. He then leaped into the air, and pounced down on whatever was in the bushea.
An object came flying on top of Aelia's body. What was that? She thought. She felt fur, so it was another cat. "Hey!" She said
Tam let out a yelp, seeing a startled rabit race away in fear. He rubbed his head-what was that cat doing in the bush? He frowned, carefully getting up "What were you doing in that bush?" He said, grimcing. He had expected to find some short of prey.. But a cat?
Aelia jumped out of the bush surprised. "I.... was trying to get that bunny..... and I wasn't watching where I was going.....sorry....." Aelia said shyly.
Tam frowned slightly, then shrugged"well, it got away." He said. He turned away, ready to continue his hunt. As he walked away, he froze, hearing a a voice in his head say, "Don't be rude! Intoduce yourself." It sounded like his mother. He turned back toward the other cat, staring at her, waiting for her to introduce herself.
Aelia felt awkward when Tam started on his way and came back. She didn't know what to say. She finally thought "Hey, maybe I could introduce myself," She looked at Tam and said "I'm Aelia by the way,"
Aelia, " The ocelot muttered, glancing at her. "I'm Tam, " he meowed, then noticed something on the ground. They were deer tracks, and if Tam caught that, it would be his first deer. "Deer tracks, " he said turning toward Aelia. They smelled pretty fresh too.
"Nice to meet you," Aelia said. Aelia heard movement in the bushes, where the deer tracks led. "Maybe the deer is in those bushes, hopefully it's not a cat!" She giggled.
The ocelot blinked, swishing his tail. It didn't seem like that a deer was in the bush; it was too small. He leaped over the bush quietly, the tracks continued on past the bush, and a small sparrow flew out out the bush. "This way, " he said quietly, motioning for Aelia to follow him.
Aelia followed Tam near the bush, the deer could be behind the bush, she didn't want to scare the deer, so she stayed by Tam.
Flicking his ears, Tam tilted his head, noticing the cat following. He waved his tail at Aelia, and nodded toward farther up. A lone deer was noseing the snowy ground, trying to find grass underneath the snow. The ocelot had a plan forming, and he turning quietly, meeting Aelia's eyes. He didn't want to speak, it would scare the deer. He mouthed 'You scare it from behind, and I'll hide in the bushes to attack it.' He gestured that she go one way, and he hide the way the deer would most likey bolt.
Aelia moved up to the deer, and tried her best to pounce on it or at least make some noise so the deer would get scared. She jumped up on the deer's side and fell off, hoping that Tam would catch it.
Hiding in the bushes, Tam didn't see what Aelia did to scare the deer toward him, but he saw the deer bolt toward where he was hiding. He got ready to pounce, and lept out of the bushes right before the deer was about to jump over them. He wasn't skilled at hunting yet, so he hoped he could kill it quickly, and not let it get away.
The ocelot landed on the deer's neck, and dug his claws into the it's neck, trying to keep on as it struggled. He finally bit down on it's throat, quickly ending the deer's life. It's body crumpled to the ground.
The Lynx watched Tam go after the deer, and soon killing it. "Great job!" She said "You're really good!"
Tam glanced down at the deer, then over at the lynx. The deer was much larger than him, and he wouldn't be able to carry it back by himself. Aelia was a bit larger than him, so he sat down. He cleared his throat, about to ask for help. He stopped himself, stubborness getting the best of him. He grabbed one of the deer's legs, trying to take it back by himself. He was small, it only body only got a few inches.
Aelia watched the other cat start to drag the prey back to camp. "Hey, need any help?" She asked. She loves to help other cats, and loves teamwork. She ran over to Tam and grabbed the other side of the deer to help.
Tam
"No, " the ocelot muttered under his breath, staring at her as she grabbed the other side of the deer. Yes, he would never get the deer back if she didn't help, but still didn't think he needed her help. "No, I'm fine, " He said, dragging the body of the deer farther forward. "I can do it by myself."
Aelia let go of the deer and backed away from it, "okay" she said. "I'll just walk with you."
He knew camp wasn't too far away, so he had to be positive. He actually could make it, now that he had the deer dragging. It got a little more difficult once Aelia let go of it, but he was too stubborn to ask for help. Just as he took another step, he yelped in pain. He had stepped on a thorn. He grimced, letting go of the deer to look at his paw.
Aelia heard Tam let out a scream and saw he stepped on a splinter, "Are you okay?" She asked. "Do you want me to carry the deer, and you can ride in my back," The lynx didn't want to seem awkward towards the other cat.
Gritting his teeth in pain, the ocelot grabbed the end of the thorn and pulled it out. He stifled another yowl, then wiped his bleeding paw on the ground. "I'm fine, " he said quietly, stopping to catch his breath. He sat down, and lifted his paw up. It was still bleeding, and he started liking the blood off. He would much rather leave the deer here than be carried on Aelia's back-he HATED physical contact.
Okay,". Aelia said. She stood watching Tam licking his wound, waiting for what he is going to do next.
"Fine!" He blirted out. " You can grab the other side of the deer." He grabbed the front leg of the deer, not waiting for Aelia, and started moving toward camp. They were almost there.
His paw still stung, it would probably feel better once he got back to the apprentice den and laid down.
Aelia grabbed the other side and started walking. They weren't too far, which is good, so Tam could get his wound treated. Aelia stepped on a mound pile not realizing it was a fire ant bed. She had fire ants all over her leg, it hurt, but she kept going, hoping the ants wouldn't get to the food, she shook them off.
Tam glanced back for a second, noticing pain writien all over her face. He slowed down to a stop, then noticed some fire ants crawling up her leg. He dropped the deer in surprise, and walked up to Aelia. "We gotta get those off your leg," He said, almost with a hint of concern in his voice.
"I really don't know how to, I just shake my leg until they are all off, but they are stubborn today," Aelia looked at Tam with a nervous face.
thankfully, it looked like Aelia had shook them all off. "They're gone, " he said, feeling releaved. This deer was a bit too much for a small cat like him, but he could see the camp coming up.
"Just a little bit more, " He muttered, grabbing the deer, and dragging it the last few feet.
The lynx looked back at her leg and sighed with relief. She wished that it could be the same for Tam, just shake the splinter off. She still walked with Tam, she felt the bites of the fire ants and began to itch. " These bites are driving me nuts," She said
With his paw throbbing, he dragged the deer into camp, and sat down, exhausted. "Maybe you should get something to calm down the itching," He told her, and looked at his paw. He really needed it to be checked out, and his mentor was probably going crazy, wondering where he was.
Hesitating, Tam said, "It was nice meeting you," That was the right thing to say, but he wasn't completly sure.
"Nice meeting you too, hope we can hang out again," Aelia said with a smile, walking off towards her home.
